Sport in Eastbourne

Leisure centres, pools, gyms and clubs across the town, with football at Priory Lane and international tennis every June.

Eastbourne has sport of every kind, from sea swimming off the beach to league football. Every place below is checked each week against current sources, with a pin on the map. Opening times, memberships and prices change, so check with the club or centre before you go.

Watch

Eastbourne Borough play football at Priory Lane in Langney, in the east of the town. Devonshire Park, near the seafront, hosts international grass-court tennis every June in the run-up to Wimbledon. Fixtures and tickets are on the clubs' and tournaments' own websites.

Swim

The town's indoor pools and leisure centres are listed below where open map data records them. In summer many people swim in the sea; check tides, flags and conditions before you go in, and see the borough council's website for its beach safety advice.

Walk, run and ride

The seafront promenade runs for miles, flat and traffic-free, from below the Wish Tower towards Sovereign Harbour. West of the town the South Downs begin: the South Downs Way starts in Eastbourne and climbs to Beachy Head. Our map shows parks and green spaces in central Eastbourne.
