Planning a journey

By train

Hastings station is a few minutes' walk from Priory Meadow and the seafront. Southeastern trains run to London Charing Cross and Cannon Street by way of Tunbridge Wells, and Southern trains run along the coast to Eastbourne and Brighton, and east to Rye and Ashford International. St Leonards Warrior Square station serves the west end of the town. For tickets and step-free access, use National Rail's Hastings station page.

By bus

Stagecoach runs most of the town's buses, linking the town centre with the Old Town, Ore, St Leonards and Bexhill. See every bus serving Hastings on bustimes.org, which covers all operators.

By road

The A21 runs north to Tunbridge Wells and the M25, and the A259 coast road runs through the town to Bexhill, Eastbourne and Rye. National Highways' live travel updates cover current incidents, disruption and major-road closures, while one.network shows local roadworks and closures in and around Hastings.

Airports

For flights, Gatwick is the nearest large airport. Check the airports' own live boards before setting out: Gatwick departures, Gatwick arrivals, Heathrow departures and Heathrow arrivals.

Parking

East Sussex County Council's parking pages cover on-street parking, permits and fines. Car parks are on our map where open map data records them.

Public toilets and access

Public toilets, car parks and the station are on our map where open map data records them. National Rail's station page above covers step-free access at Hastings station.

Weather

The seafront and the hills can be much windier than the streets below. Our home page has a three-day forecast for the town, and the Met Office issues the official warnings.
