What we collect and why

Messages you send us

If you email us or use the submit a listing form, we receive your email address and anything you include, such as your name and details of a business or event. We use this to reply to you and to check and update listings. Our lawful basis is legitimate interests: running an accurate local guide and answering the people who contact us.

How long we keep messages: to be confirmed.

Website analytics

UckfieldGo does not use Google Analytics or any other tracking service. Our own server counts page views so we know which pages are useful: for each view it adds one to that day's totals for the page, the website you came from (its name only, such as google.com) and whether the screen is a phone, tablet or computer size. It sets no cookies, keeps nothing in your browser, and does not store your IP address, your browser's details or anything else that could identify you, so the totals are not personal information. We keep them for as long as they are useful for running the site. If your browser sends a "do not track" or Global Privacy Control signal, your visit is not counted.

Server logs

Our hosting provider, Hostinger, keeps standard server logs, including IP addresses and the pages requested, to keep the site secure and working. Our lawful basis is legitimate interests.

Cookies

UckfieldGo sets no cookies. The welcome animation on the homepage remembers, for the rest of your visit, that you have seen it, using your browser's session storage; nothing is sent to us or anyone else.

Other websites

Event pictures on UckfieldGo are copies we keep on our own server, taken only where the organiser has made them available for this use, so viewing them does not contact any other website. Links from UckfieldGo take you to other websites, which have their own privacy notices.

Anti-spam protection

Our public message forms use Cloudflare Turnstile to distinguish genuine visitors from automated abuse. Cloudflare receives technical information needed to perform that security check. We use the result only to protect the forms from spam and misuse.

Who we share information with

We do not sell personal information. We share it only with the services that help us run the site: Hostinger for hosting and email. We do not publish anything you send us about yourself.

Your rights

You have the right to ask for a copy of your personal information, to have it corrected or deleted, to restrict or object to how we use it, and to withdraw consent at any time. Use our secure contact form and we will reply within one month.

Complaints

If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, please tell us first. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint or by phone on 0303 123 1113.

We will update this notice if anything changes.
