Planning a journey

By train

Worthing station is about ten minutes' walk north of the seafront, on the coast line. Southern trains run east to Shoreham and Brighton, west to Littlehampton, Chichester and Portsmouth, and to London Victoria. West Worthing and East Worthing stations serve other parts of the town. For tickets and step-free access, use National Rail's Worthing station page.

By bus

Stagecoach runs most of the town's buses, including the Coastliner 700 along the coast to Brighton one way and to Littlehampton, Bognor Regis and Chichester the other. See every bus serving Worthing on bustimes.org, which covers all operators.

By road

The A27 runs along the north of the town, between Brighton and Chichester, and the A259 coast road runs through it. National Highways' live travel updates cover current incidents, disruption and major-road closures, while one.network shows local roadworks and closures in and around Worthing.

Airports

For flights, Gatwick is the nearest large airport. Check the airports' own live boards before setting out: Gatwick departures, Gatwick arrivals, Heathrow departures and Heathrow arrivals.

Parking

West Sussex County Council's parking pages cover on-street parking, permits and fines. Car parks are on our map where open map data records them.

Public toilets and access

Public toilets, car parks and the station are on our map where open map data records them. National Rail's station page above covers step-free access at Worthing station.

Weather

The seafront can be much windier than the streets behind it. Our home page has a three-day forecast for the town, and the Met Office issues the official warnings.
