Town guides

Our town guides

Full local guides for the towns we know best, built the same way and checked every week.

Every PostcodeGo town guide has the same core: a calendar of what's on, collected twice a day from venues' and organisers' own websites; a directory and map of local places, checked against open data every week; where to stay; and live trains and buses. Nobody pays to be listed, and nothing is published on the strength of one old record.

How a town guide is built

Places come only from open data: OpenStreetMap, the Food Standards Agency's food hygiene register, official lists such as the NHS and brands' own branch lists, and checks we make ourselves. A business appears only when independent, current sources agree that it is trading, and it comes off when any source shows it has closed. Events come from the venues' and organisers' own websites; listings sites are used only as leads, and an event found there is shown once the organiser's own page confirms it.

More towns are coming

We add towns one at a time so each guide keeps the same evidence, accessibility and deployment standard. If you want to suggest a location, venue, event source or correction, use our secure contact form. In the meantime, any UK postcode gets live weather, trains and buses.
